Wow, a month has already gone by in 2012. It’s February 1. Speaking of which and a super fun fact: it’s also Danielle and Tyler’s 13-month anniversary so a well-deserved shout out to them!
As part of my 2012 New Year’s Resolution to blog at least once a month, I’m going to get February’s out of the way today. I figured that my lack of motivation to apply for internships/jobs and the need for a February blog coupled with the tiredness from the early stages of marathon training, this was a great idea. While I have yet to recap my phenomenal trip to Vancouver - that post is still in the works - so for today, I am throwing together a mish-mash of things.
First off and probably most importantly, the Patriots are returning to the Super Bowl. Boo yah. I knew that early loss to the Bills meant nothing! I’m pretty excited for Sunday especially since I’ll be making ground chicken chili, but it’s definitely going to be weird not being able to watch with Dad and Shelley. I mean, it’s bad enough that I’m already in Giants country and EVERYONE is cheering for them because they either like the Giants or hate the Patriots. Thank god for Nate and Caleb and Tony’s small obsession with Gronk or I’d have no one to talk Patriots with. Speaking of which, I wish I still got Sports Illustrated because Tom certainly makes this cover look beautiful.
As promised and previously mentioned, I will be posting a complete Vancouver recap, complete with tons of pictures and funny anecdotes. In the meantime, here’s a little preview: curling, Canucks, Giants, biathlon, skeleton, International Triathlon Union, VANOC, BC Sports Agency, Whistler, and more! We met a lot of cool people, learned some valuable information and made lots of memories. Even our extra 36 hours in Seattle made for a fun ending and allowed for a spontaneous birthday celebration. Here’s all of us outside the Canucks locker room:
And all of my fellow grad students in Stanley Park:
In addition to the huge amount of fun in Vancouver, spring semester in Ithaca has started off with a bang! We’ve all taken this all-or-nothing approach and Sam and I have reached female bro status so lots more fun should be had. You really only live once and it’s awesome here, so I’m trying my best to enjoy every moment and take it for what it’s worth. Got lots of missions to accomplish and an Ithaca bucket list that needs completing! Ahhhh, the beginning of spring semester...
Even though I’d rather not mention this, I probably should. I’m currently job- and internship-searching and I hate it. I’m pretty sure I’m ready for the real world, but I realllllly like where I am right now so it’s kind of difficult. Not to mention that it’s super weird that I won’t be a student for the first time in 19 years. I am excited though, I’ve worked super hard to get myself here, but I am not afraid to admit that I’m a little freaked out.
Also and on a more exciting note, Project 365 is well under way and I have yet to go a day without a picture! Below is my favorite photo from the month of January. Yes, it’s my sister and I Tebow-ing after the Broncos defeated the Steelers in overtime…
