Expect the Unexpected

I’ve been hearing this phrase for as long as I can remember from my grandmother and while its super cliché, it’s true my friends. Lately she’s been preaching this to me quite often regarding life topics like job searches and the next steps in my life. As of right now, the future looks bright and exciting and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings, but for all intents and purposes, this blog is taking a different kind of turn. An unexpected one if you will.

Last Monday, April 23rd, I woke up to this:

Oh ya, six inches of effing snow. Not just snow, effing snow. At the end of April! Really, Mother Nature? I get that the Northeast weather is messed up. I have lived here my entire life but this year has just been crazy. Never, ever have I gotten multiple sunburns in March and April. Then, to wake up to six inches of snow on the day my five-day old sunburn started peeling was just too much.

Three days before it was 80 degrees and my friends and I played outside:

The day before my roommate, ever so awesomely pictured here with her fine purchases, bought sandals and shorts:

I did eight miles on the treadmill that morning with this view:

What the heck, Mother Nature? I didn’t expect that and I’m actually still not okay that it happened.

Nonetheless, expect the unexpected. You never know when you’re going to see things like this:

Or like this:

With that, my friends.

Embrace the unexpected.

Expect the unexpected.

You never know what’s in store for you today, tomorrow or next week.
